81-year-old walks across USA to change lives

In a recent interview with KVIA ABC-7’s Health Editor, Hillary Floren, Dr. Judy Benjamin, 81, shared some of her reasons for walking 3,000 miles across the United States to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s and inspire others with her story of resilience and lifestyle transformation. She also shared how her early-onset Alzheimer’s diagnosis 13 years ago became the catalyst for a dramatic shift in her life. Rather than retreating, she chose to take action.
She describes her mission to Floren to show that age and diagnosis don’t have to define a person’s future. Her walk is not only symbolic but also serves as a platform to promote healthy aging through a whole-foods approach, regular physical activity, mental wellness, and minimizing exposure to toxins. Benjamin, now a board-certified health and wellness coach, credits these changes with reversing cognitive decline and regaining control over her brain health. “I want to spread the word,” she said in the segment, encouraging others to pursue lifestyle changes that can support brain function.
