In an interview on the Think Well Age Well podcast with Heather Sandison, N.D., Alzheimer’s survivor and ReCODE coach Judy Benjamin described her early work with Apollo Health founder and Chief Scientific Officer Dale Bredesen at a time when symptom reversal was widely considered impossible. Diagnosed at age 67, Benjamin pursued a precision-medicine approach focused on identifying and addressing contributors to cognitive decline, including metabolic dysfunction, sleep apnea, nutrient deficiencies, toxin exposure, and chronic stress.

Benjamin reported measurable cognitive improvement after closely following the ReCODE Protocol, with gradual gains in memory, focus, and daily functioning. Her experience as “Patient Zero” helped inform early clinical insights behind the protocol and later led her to train as a ReCODE coach, supporting others facing similar diagnoses.

The interview also highlighted Benjamin’s recent cross-country walk at age 81, underscoring Apollo Health’s message that Alzheimer’s is multifactorial and that identifying and addressing its drivers may lead to meaningful improvements in cognition, quality of life, and long-term brain health.
